Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and stress caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other conditions as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in orally. The regular daily dose for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in divided doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into several dosages.
More Information
Atarax can cause giddiness. These effects can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been ordered. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
