Drug Uses
Cipro is used for curing of bacterial infections. It can also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as determined by your doctor. Take Cipro with or without a meal. It is advised to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, do not take them within 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of curing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
More Information
Cipro may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, notify your physician. Cipro should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your doctor.
