Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It can be used for other situations as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in by mouth. The ordinary daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in parted dosages. Daily dose for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into couple of dosages.
More Information
Atarax may cause dizziness. These symptoms can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
