Drug Uses
Premarin is indicated for treating symptoms of advanced breast cancer in selected men and women, curing or preventing a variety of symptoms due to menopause (hot flashes, vaginal itching, burning, dryness), preventing osteoporosis (brittle bones) after menopause, replacing estrogen after failure of the ovaries, and curing advanced prostate cancer in men. Premarin may be used for certain conditions, as prescribed by your physician, which can not be listed in the professional package insert. If you have questions about how Premarin is being used, check with your doctor.
How Taken
Premarin should be taken with a meal. Take it at the same time every day. Ask your doctor about the dose suitable for you and discuss stopping taking Premarin four - six weeks before surgery.
More Information
Premarin can cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain drugs. Use Premarin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to it. Do not share this pill with others for whom it was not directed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your physician.
