Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for healing of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney sickness. It is also can be used in combination with other medicines to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itmay also be used for other conditions as prescribed by your physician.
How Taken
Take Furosemide as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dose before 6 pm (18:00).
Additional Information
Furosemide may cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Furosemide with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
