Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for treatment of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney sickness. It is also used in combination with other medicines to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itmay also be used for other situations as advised by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Furosemide as directed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dose before 6 pm (18:00).
More Information
Furosemide may cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Furosemide with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly not safe tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, talk to your physician. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your doctor.
