Drug Uses
Albuterol is a sympathomimetic bronchodilator. It is used for treatment of breathing problems in patients who have asthma or certain other breathing diseases. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Albuterol should be taken with or without a meal. Albuterol works for up to 8 hours or longer. Do not stop using this medication or change the suggested dosage without your doctor`s approval. Contact your physician regarding the dose suitable for your condition.
Additional Information
Albuterol can cause dizziness or lightheadedness.
These effects may worsen if Albuterol is taken with
alcohol. Take Albuterol with caution. Don't drive or perform
other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how
you react to this medication. If your
symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, talk to your doctor.
If your usual dosage doesn`t work well,
your symptoms become worse, or you need to take it more often
than usually, call your doctor
at once. This can be a sign of seriously worsening
asthma. Your physician can need to change
your dose or medicine. Albuterol should be used only by the
patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or
more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
