Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as determined by your doctor. Take Cipro with or without a meal. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within 6 hours before or two hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
More Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Cipro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your doctor.
