Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for healing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for handling nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin may also be used for other situation as suggested by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Neurontin as suggested by your doctor. Use Neurontin with or without a meal. Don't take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within two hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You may have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new pill, your doctor will gradually lower your dosage.
More Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, consult your doctor. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
