Circular office defits are becoming the new normal.
Green Collect was pleased to partner with Duo Projects, on behalf of Dexus, to create sustainable outcomes for their redundant office furniture, IT equipment and other office sundries collected during an building defit at 52 Collins Street, Melbourne.
As sustainability within office renovations, defits and moves become the norm, Green Collect and it’s growing ecosystem of resource recovery focused social enterprises are scaling up to provide high quality office defit services for large office blocks and towers that deliver strong social and environmental impacts.
Our dedicated team takes pride in carefully identifying, assessing, disassembling, and preparing a vast quantity of mixed assets and materials for best circular economy outcome.
We are proud to have worked with Dexus and Duo Projects on this project that diverted 26,192 kg of products from landfill, avoiding 5,238 kg of Co2. While the long-term effects of this project are ongoing, the immediate effects of this defit cannot be understated. Green Collect collected 965 furniture items from 11 floors, as well as 1,237 kg of smaller office items.

Our corporate partners like Duo Projects and Dexus enable us to drive meaningful environmental and social impact by providing our staff with long-term and ongoing work opportunities. This project alone created over 606 hours of meaningful employment for people facing significant barriers to work. Every asset collected creates at least 30 minutes of permanent employment for our priority cohorts, creating a green career trajectory and developing important skills in assessment, processing, repairing, and cataloguing of pre-loved items.
